On route to Dwingeloo, coming from the south, it is worthwhile to make a stop at the Gardens Thematuinen van Harrie Boerhof. Driving along the Canal Drentse Hoofdvaart  turn to the right at the sign Ruinen.

Dwingeloo has a beautiful centre with, amongst others, this horsewoman that looks at the rather strange steeple of the Hervormde Kerk Church, a Siepeltoren; and at the bottom of the church is the Pottery  Pottebakkerij “de Brinksteen” ; the potter is often at work in the shop and when you are able to climb 14 steps you can watch a video about pottery.

In the centre of Dwingeloo there are very many places to spoil your intestines with delicious drinks and food.

On a rainy day you could visit the Planetron; three-dimensional surrounding movies. On Tuesday- and Thursday evenings during July and August you can join the stargazers, but you will have to climb a stair.

Just outside of Dwingeloo, leaving the Drift, to follow the road to Lhee you find on your left hand sight a farm that has a gallery with works of ceramic and graphic, respectively of Elysia Verhoeven en Siemen Dijkstra, recommended!; in the same building a small museum  Steentijdmuseum Terre Merveille. Here you find relics of some 80.000 year old stones chiselled by mankind!

When you continue on the same road, you arrive in Lhee, and there on your right hand side you see the Galerie Anny van Veen. Here you find amongst exclusive clothing, paintings and statues.

9.00 tot 17.00 hr. Fee Є 5.00 pp, children under 16 must be accompanied.

Pottenbakkerij: Entingheweg 1, Dwingeloo, open Monday to Saturday from 10.00 – 18.00 hrs and Saturday from 10.00 – 17.00

Planetron: Drift 11b, Dwingeloo, open Monday to Sunday from 10.00 – 17.30 hrs and Sunday from 12.00 – 17.30 hrs.

The movies start at 10.30 and then every hour.

Gallery and museum: Lheeweg 10b, Dwingeloo; open Tuesday to Saturday from 12.00 – 16.00 hrs and on appointment; the museum from first of May until first of September from Tuesday to Saturday on appointment.

Atelier/Galerie Anny van Veen; Lhee 75; open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 – 18.00 hrs and on Saturday until 15.00 hrs – closed in the month of January.
